Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She is the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss born in California has an affluent family background. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur with a real estate business who later eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. After her parents divorced in 1972 She began feeling emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family's business as director of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. After that, she established the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. Before she became vice president of the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum.
