Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. She has performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing the piano and singing in church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine was noticed by America during the four performances per day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
